Semi-Automatic Compression Testing Machines

Compression machines designed by Cantrol are used to determine compression, split and flexural strengths, usually applied to materials of high compression but low tensile strength in which the specimen is subjected to increasing compression force until failure occurs. There are two major types of frames and two types of hydraulic power systems and digital controllers.

Automatic pace rate load
This is a dual stage pump; the low-pressure and high delivery pump which used for rapid approach and heavy-duty piston type. High-pressure (600bar – 8700 psi) system has a high performance valve directly controlled by the digital unit that grants the automatic control of load pace rate to maintain the increasing the load per time constantly.
Load pace rate is produced by a very a sensitive valve controlled by step-by-step servomotor and allows a micrometric actions. The load pace rate can be set to 1kN/sec – 30 kN/sec.

In addition to the features mentioned above about hydraulic pump, in semi-automatic compression machines, after setting amount of pace rate (kN/ sec or lb/ sec) on 4” display, the toolbar on the indicator will help the user to maintain the rate in middle of toolbar by increasing or decreasing of the delivery (by turning the control valve to right or left).

Frames:
Welded Steel Frames:
Welded steel frames designed by Cantrol feature heavy duty, rigid, distortion-resistant frames to meet the requirements of testing high performance concrete where the accurate and repeatable test results are required. The stiffness of these frames met ASTM.

Four column frames:
It consists of pre-stressed upper and lower steel plates to provide a very high rigidity and distortion.

All frames includes:
Front fragment guard with door locking switch to cut off main when the door is open.
Upper and lower platens grinded and hardened to 55 HRC or greater for longer service life.
Heavy-duty spherical seat machined accurately by CNC lath machine in lubricant oil bath allowing free alignment at the initial contact with the specimen.
Lower platen has concentric circle for easier contacting of test specimens.
Complete with spacer set of 2pcs.
