Cold bend testing machine
The bending effect on steel bars can be examined using this device, which operates in two distinct test modes: bending to 90 degrees and re-bending to 20 degrees, and bending to 180 degrees. The apparatus consists of a horizontally-mounted hydraulic jack within a robust steel frame, which applies load to the sample via mandrels of varying sizes in accordance with standard specifications.
The mandrels at the end of the piston can be easily changed, and two 100 mm diameter rollers serve as loading supports, with adjustable intervals as per standard requirements. A flow valve enables control over the loading speed, while a pressure gauge is utilized to determine the force applied. User safety is ensured through a protective guard, while the test method is automated and features a return to the initial position.
By selecting the appropriate rebar diameter and bending angle, the piston moves to the desired distance to create a bend and subsequently returns to its starting position. The microswitches integrated within the device provide additional control over the movement course.
